It is a basic and fundamental tenant. Two plus two is four.

And so it is with your business. There are certain fundamentals that will withstand the test of time. Regardless of all the new gizmos, theories and state-of-the-art technological inventions there are a few basic principles that will continue to serve you well.

I have time to just remind you of one today. The Thank-You Note. Commonly agreed to as the “right thing to do.” Easy enough to do in and of itself. Inexpensive enough. Effective and valued as the day is long. Seldom administered.

Just as 2 + 2 will always equal four, thank-you notes will always help position you as the true professional you are. If you already make it a practice to write thank-you notes, keep on writing. If not, start today by writing one a week until you hone this skill as a habit.
